Bethany C. Sanders is an associate in the litigation department. She concentrates in the area of trust and estate litigation and bankruptcy.
Ms. Sanders received her Juris Doctorate from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 2009. At Mercer, she was active in Phi Alpha Delta, the Association for Women Law Students, and the Christian Legal Society. Ms. Sanders was a member of the Mercer Moot Court Board, competing in and later student-coaching a team for the Jerome Prince Evidence Competition, and also competing in Houston National Moot court Championship. She served on the Executive Moot Court Board as the co-chair of the Hugh Lawson, III Memorial Competition in 2009. For her service on the Moot Court Board, she was honored to be inducted into the National Order of the Barristers. Ms. Sanders received CALI Awards for Academic Excellence in Contracts, Introduction to Law, and Advanced Legal Writing, and earned a certificate in legal writing.
Ms. Sanders is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Music at Florida State University in 2003, where she graduated magna cum laude and was on the Dean's List and listed on the Who's Who in 2003. At Florida State, Ms. Sanders was active in the Women's Glee Society and the Tallahassee Community Chorus. In 2003 she was inducted in to the Music Honors Fraternity.
Ms. Sanders is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, and the Young Lawyers Division of the Georgia Bar Association. She is also a member of the State Bar of Florida. She has been admitted to practice before the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the United States Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
Ms. Sanders lives in Decatur, where she enjoys dining out, reading, live music, and comparing the BBC version of "The Office" with the American version.
